FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
· Who is Stars-n-Stripes? A youth wrestling club in Lockwood, Montana serving youth K-12 for 32 years. We are sanctioned by; AAU. and USAW Federations
· What disciplines do we teach? Folk style, Free style, Greco-Roman, Japanese Judo, Russian Sambo.
· What does it cost to join? $50.00 for a 12 month card.
· Who can join? Boys and Girls. 4 out of 5 girls will be assaulted by the age of 18! We encourage you to give them the skills to interdict this violence.
· What equipment do I need? One reversal red and blue singlet. One pair of wrestling shoes. We recommend that you purchase the least expensive of both.
· Where is the venue? Practice is conducted in the (Old Gym) right off Hwy 87 East in the Lockwood schools complex.
· What are the days and times? Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday evenings; 6:30-8:00 pm. Please be punctual; we have short sessions and need to maximize every minute.
· My child takes meds and has a medical condition. Make us aware of your unique situation and any reactions or seizures your child might experience.
· Where are the tournaments, do I have to go? Tournaments are held in close proximity to Billings each Saturday. You can travel to Wyoming or Western Montana for USAW events if you want. You do not have to attend but, it tests the skills learned each week.
· What are weigh-ins, when are they held? Your wrestler will weigh in every Thursday night for tournaments. You must come and pre-pay the fee to the host club, usually around $5.00
· What is the No Cash Option? If you cannot afford the fee, you can sell an Adopt a Wrestler poster to cover that cost of one or several children. It is easy to find businesses who will support youth sports. You need to complete this sale before we register all athletes or sit out until you do.
· What is the S-n-S philosophy? Never abuse children, have realistic expectations, lavish praise and encouragement upon your athlete; win-lose-or draw. Most of all have fun.
